Beginner Beekeeper Support

from £70.00

Do you find yourself lacking confidence with your bees, or perhaps you don’t have your bees yet but are looking for some advice to get started. Are you embarking on your first year of beekeeping and looking for some support and guidance from a friendly non-judgemental person. Then this could be for you.

Consisting of tailored, practical, training sessions face to face at our apiary or yours. Ideal for those looking to learn and gain confidence with their bees during their first few years of beekeeping.

Held with you and your bees at your apiary, Stacy will visit you and your hive(s) to help troubleshoot or provide confidence. Ideal if you’ve got your bees before doing a course, if you’re looking for additional help, support or encouragement or if you just need a second pair of experienced eyes on your hive.

Alternatively these sessions can also be held at our training apiary on the Suffolk/Norfolk border if you prefer where we would tackle your issues or worries using the Sunnyfields bees.

Each session lasts for up to an hour and includes practical work with the bees along with discussion to identify areas to improve upon and general queries.

An example of content that could be covered includes (this isn’t a definitive list but should provide an idea of what can be covered):

  • confidence building session / sense check

  • general hive inspections - what to look for, what tasks to carry out, what tools to use

  • moving a nuc into a hive / carrying out a split / adding a queen / swarm control

  • moving bees to another location / choosing a location for your bees, site survey

  • honey extraction / super removal

These private sessions are tailormade to your experience and knowledge and can be booked as single sessions or a block of four which is ideal for seasonal check-in’s throughout the beekeeping year.

Please contact me for further information or to discuss. Visits ideally take place on a Monday/ Tuesday /Wednesday or Sunday but there is some flexibility.
