The Wildflower Club is a sociable, cake-fuelled wander through some of East Anglia’s most beautiful, and often lesser-known gardens and loveliest wild places.
Created for those who love plants, pollinators, and the pleasure of good company, we meet once a month on Sunday mornings to explore gardens, nature reserves, woodlands, and tucked-away spots across Norfolk and Suffolk. From bee-filled borders to peaceful meadows and ancient trees, each outing offers the chance to slow down, learn something new, and enjoy time with like-minded folk—usually with tea and homemade cake involved.
Expect behind-the-scenes access to places not normally open to the public, guided walks, garden tours, and talks from nature and wildlife experts.
Whether you're a seasoned gardener, a nature enthusiast, or just looking for a friendly way to spend a Sunday, you’re very welcome. In the winter, we’ll keep the inspiration going with cosy talks and seasonal ideas to bring more nature into everyday life.
To join, scroll down and select a membership option - monthly and pay as you go options are available. This is a brand new club, shaped by its members—so come along, bring a friend, and help it grow.

The Village Hall, The Street, Saxlingham Nethergate, NR15 1AJVery excited to be welcoming Dr Ian Bedford to give his talk Gardens for Us and Them.
Dr Ian Bedford – Guest Speaker
A lifelong insect enthusiast and former Head of Entomology at the John Innes Centre, Ian now shares his vast knowledge as an independent entomologist. From BBC radio to garden shows, he’s known for his engaging talks on the bugs in our back gardens and how to garden with wildlife in mind. We’re delighted to welcome Ian to The Wildflower Club for a fascinating talk this January.Gardens for Us and Them.
Global Warming and Climate Change, are adversely affecting the natural world, including here in Britain. Efforts to protect and conserve Britain's declining biodiversity are ongoing, but could be helped further within our home gardens, which can easily become stepping stones for wildlife to visit and safely through between the officially protected nature reserves. This talk explains some of the simple things we can all do to achieve this, for us, our future generations and Britain's wildlife. -

These early bloomers are soon followed by a colourful succession of spring delights – from narcissus and crocus to wood anemones, cyclamen and other flowering bulbs and perennials.

Stories from The Wildflower Club
Visit Info
Excursions take place all over Suffolk and Norfolk. I attempt to book places spread out across both counties to provide interest; this does mean some places will be further away but others will be close to home.
Detailed information for each visit will be provided by email prior to the day. It is your responsibility to get to the location but if you need assistance let us know.
If you’d like to carpool please let us know, or mention it in the members area (if you join as a member you’ll get access to a private Facebook group) and we can see if people want to meet up and drive together from convenient locations.
This is a friendly group, a lovely bunch of people. Men and women are welcome and all ages although it is most appropriate for adults as children are not specifically catered for with regards entertainment.
Meeting times usually are 10.30am but do check beforehand as sometimes venues require us to be there at different times. Visits usually last around two hours and will be made up of a mix of time together and time to wander alone or in smaller groups.
Bookings for venues usually close a week before the visit to enable confirmations and ordering of cake!
We’re an all weather club; if it’s raining or very hot we’ll still go ahead but it’s up to you to wear appropriate dress and bring a bottle of water, wear sunscreen, bring a brolly etc! In the Winter we do have an indoor talk programme for some of the months when nature is slumbering.
Can you help?
I am looking for venues to host The Wildflower Club. Are you a beekeeper willing to open up your apiary so we can learn a little about how you keep your bees, or people with pollinator friendly gardens who would be happy to give us a tour. Do you have knowledge of nature that can be shared with our group, a specialist wildlife subject or nature based business?
If you are located in Suffolk or Norfolk, England, please do get in touch via email at info@sunnyfieldshoney.com
If you are located outside of Suffolk and Norfolk and are interested in hosting, running or attending a Wildflower Club please do get in touch to discuss further.
